Samsung Washer Error Codes

Applies to all Samsung washer models — WF front-load, WA top-load, WV FlexWash, and Bespoke series.

4E / 4C

Water Supply Error

What it means: The washer isn't getting enough water to fill.

Common causes: Kinked inlet hose, closed water tap, faulty water inlet valve, low water pressure.

What we do: We inspect the inlet hose, test the valve, and replace the water inlet valve if faulty. Same-day fix.

5E / SE / 5C

Drain Error

What it means: The washer cannot drain water after the wash cycle.

Common causes: Clogged drain filter, blocked drain pump, kinked drain hose.

What we do: We clear the drain filter and hose, or replace the drain pump. Most common Samsung washer call we get.

dE / dC / dE1

Door Error

What it means: The door is not closing or the door lock isn't engaging.

Common causes: Worn door latch, damaged door hook, failed door lock assembly.

What we do: Replace the door latch or lock module. Quick same-day repair on all WF series models.

UE / UB

Unbalanced Load

What it means: The drum is too unbalanced to spin safely.

Common causes: Worn suspension rods, damaged shock absorbers, drum bearing failure.

What we do: Inspect suspension components and replace worn parts. We carry Samsung suspension rods on the truck.

nF / nF1

No Fill

What it means: The drum isn't filling with water within the expected time.

Common causes: Low water pressure, blocked inlet screen, faulty pressure sensor.

What we do: We test water pressure, clean the inlet screen, and inspect the pressure sensor to restore normal fill.

Sud / Sd

Excess Suds

What it means: Too many suds detected — the machine pauses to let them dissipate.

Common causes: Non-HE detergent, too much detergent, faulty pressure sensor.

What we do: Run a rinse-only cycle first. If the code persists, the pressure sensor or control board may need attention.

3E / 3C

Motor Error

What it means: The drum motor isn't responding or has failed.

Common causes: Faulty motor, worn motor hall sensor, control board fault.

What we do: We test the motor and hall sensor, replacing whichever component has failed.

OE / 0E

Overflow Error

What it means: Too much water has entered the drum.

Common causes: Faulty water inlet valve stuck in the open position.

What we do: Replace the water inlet valve to stop overflow and prevent water damage to your floor.

HE / HC

Heater Error

What it means: The water heating element has failed or the temperature is out of range.

Common causes: Failed heating element, faulty thermistor, control board issue.

What we do: Replace the heating element or thermistor and verify wash temperature before finishing the job.

Samsung Dryer Error Codes

Applies to Samsung DV (electric) and DVG (gas) dryer series including Bespoke.

dE / dF

Door Error

What it means: The dryer door isn't latching or the door switch isn't detecting it as closed.

Common causes: Worn door latch, broken door hook, faulty door switch.

What we do: Replace the door latch assembly or door switch. One of the most common Samsung dryer repairs we do.

HE / HC / HE4

Heating Error

What it means: The dryer isn't heating or has overheated and tripped a safety fuse.

Common causes: Burned heating element, blown thermal fuse, clogged dryer vent restricting airflow.

What we do: Clean the vent, replace the heating element or thermal fuse, test heat before leaving.

tE / tS / tO

Temperature Sensor

What it means: The thermistor (temperature sensor) is reading incorrectly.

Common causes: Failed thermistor, wiring fault to the sensor.

What we do: Replace the thermistor — a straightforward same-day fix. Clothes stop taking forever to dry.

Frequency Error

What it means: A power supply frequency issue detected.

Common causes: Power surge, wiring problem, control board issue.

What it means: A control panel button is stuck or the control board isn't registering input.

What it means: Main control board communication fault, often after a power surge.

Common causes: Power surge damage to the control board.

Samsung Refrigerator Error Codes

Applies to Samsung RF French door, RS side-by-side, Family Hub, and Bespoke fridge series.

21E / 21C

Freezer Fan Error

What it means: The freezer evaporator fan motor has failed or is blocked by ice buildup.

Common causes: Ice blockage around the fan, failed fan motor.

What we do: Defrost the fan cavity, replace the fan motor. Fridge cools normally within hours of repair.

22E / 22C

Fridge Fan Error

What it means: The refrigerator compartment fan has stopped. Food starts warming while the freezer stays cold.

Common causes: Failed evaporator fan motor in the fridge section.

What we do: Replace the fridge section evaporator fan motor — a direct part swap, same-day completion.

24E / 24C

Defrost Sensor Error

What it means: The defrost sensor has failed, causing ice to build up on the evaporator coils.

Common causes: Faulty defrost sensor or thermistor.

What we do: Replace the defrost sensor. We also check the defrost heater to make sure the whole circuit is working.

25E / 25C

Defrost Heater Error

What it means: The defrost heater has burned out, causing heavy frost buildup on the coils.

Common causes: Failed defrost heater element, faulty defrost thermostat.

What we do: Replace the defrost heater and thermostat, then run a full defrost cycle to confirm fix.

26E / 26C

Defrost Circuit Fault

What it means: A broader defrost circuit failure — could be the heater, thermostat, or control board.

Common causes: Multiple defrost components failing together.

What we do: Trace and repair the full defrost circuit, replacing all faulty components in a single visit.

40E / 41E

Ice Maker Error

What it means: The ice maker has stopped producing ice or is frozen over.

Common causes: Frozen ice maker assembly, failed ice maker motor, water supply issue to the ice maker.

What we do: Defrost the assembly, reset, or replace the ice maker unit. We stock Samsung ice maker assemblies on the truck.

Control Board Error

What it means: Main control board communication fault. Display may cycle through codes or show "88".

Common causes: Power surge, aging control board, wiring fault.

PC / PC ER

Pantry / Flex Zone Error

What it means: The pantry or flex zone temperature sensor has failed on models with a variable-temp drawer.

Common causes: Faulty flex zone thermistor.

What we do: Replace the flex zone sensor and verify the drawer is holding the correct temperature.

No Code

Fridge Not Cooling

What it means: The fridge stops cooling without displaying any error code.

Common causes: Failed compressor start relay, faulty start capacitor, frozen evaporator coil, refrigerant leak.

What we do: Full diagnostic — we test the compressor, relay, and coil to find the root cause. No code doesn't mean no fix.

Samsung Dishwasher Error Codes

Applies to Samsung DW80 series and all Samsung built-in dishwasher models.

5C / 5E

Drain Error

What it means: The dishwasher cannot drain water at the end of a cycle.

Common causes: Clogged filter, blocked drain hose, failed drain pump.

What we do: Clear the blockage or replace the drain pump. Water standing in the bottom of the tub after this repair — gone.

4C / 4E

Water Supply Error

What it means: The dishwasher isn't filling with water.

Common causes: Closed shutoff valve, faulty water inlet valve, low water pressure.

What we do: Verify the shutoff valve, test and replace the inlet valve if faulty.

Overflow Error

What it means: Water level inside is too high — overflow risk.

Common causes: Float switch stuck, water inlet valve stuck open.

LC / LE

Leak Sensor Triggered

What it means: Water detected in the base of the dishwasher by the leak sensor.

Common causes: Worn door seal, loose hose connection, leaking pump.

What we do: Find and fix the leak source — door seal, hose, or pump — before the water damages your subfloor.

Button / Control Error

What it means: A control panel button is stuck or the touchpad is unresponsive.

Common causes: Moisture damage to the control panel, worn membrane button.

HE / tE

Heating Error

What it means: The water isn't reaching the right temperature for proper cleaning or sanitizing.
